9-mm SR.2M sub-machine pistol represents the automatic weapon of close combat and is intended to defeat live targets including targets protected by individual protection means at ranges of up to 200 m. 9x21 mm pistol cartridges (SP10, SP11) are used. The sub-machine pistol has the gas vent drive of the automated mechanism; the rigid locking of the bore is ensured by the rotary bolt. The trigger mechanism allows to deliver single or automatic fire. Feeding is carried out from a box magazine for 20 or 30 rounds placed in the grip. The safety lever of a thumb piece type when switched on blocks the trigger and the moving system from casual shocks and drops. The sighting device consists of a fixed rear sight and adjustable foresight. SR2 sub-machine pistol is completed with a collimating sight set on the cover of the receiver. There is a front small fixed handle for controlling the fire.
The sub-machine pistol features:
- metal stock folding forward on the top of the sub-machine pistol receiver cover with the rear spring pushing device that allows the weapon to be quickly changed from marching position to firing position with shoulder support. The manner of stock folding allows to reduce the width of the sub-machine pistol. The form and the size of the folding stock ensure ease of handling and fire aiming.
- ambidextrous magazine latch, selector and safety levers design allows to switch them by the hand that clasps the sub-machine pistol grip.
- the design of the latch providing “the shot out” of the magazine allows fast change of the magazine.
- the collimating sight allows to considerably increase fire efficiency on moving targets in low level light conditions.
- small dimension and weight in combination with an original suspension sling for concealed carrying of the sub-machine pistol under clothes ensure its quick change over into combat position.
- the sub-machine pistol is very reliable under difficult environmental conditions at temperatures from –50 oC to +50 oC.
